Love Island has returned for a second incarnation and a new batch of Z-listers who would prefer to laze around on a tropical beach for a few weeks rather than eat grubs and live outdoors will be “entertaining” us each evening. Here is a look at the six girls participating and their odds of success.

Bianca Gascoigne
Top Female Odds: 3/1

Not really a celebrity but the bookmaker’s favourite to win. The step daughter of football legend Paul has often used the tabloid press to express how much she detests the World Cup Italia ’90 cry baby but his name appears good enough to use in order to further her own career. Exceptionally pretty and looks good in a bikini, the lads mags will be queuing up to offer her work after the show has finished as will other television production companies who require semi-celebrity involvement.

Kelle Bryan
Top Female Odds: 3/1

One of former girl band Eternal that wasn’t Louise Redknapp (formerly Nurding). Claims to have been “busy” since the band split up, setting up her own music management company and training as a life coach. She has recently returned to acting after landing roles in The Bill and Eastenders before her Eternal fame. No danger of getting a real job then.

Sophie Anderton
Top Female Odds: 7/2

International model but more recently a reality TV regular who spends her spare time moaning to the press about her former drink and drug addictions and how she was forced into the seedy world of “high class” prostitution. She hasn’t changed much since her incessant whinging on “I’m A Celebrity…” a few series ago and it is not surprising she was left out after the five participating men chose to partner up with five of the six available women. She’s already began moaning about being “left out” and didn’t want to sleep in the one available single bed in the room. Yawn.

Colleen Shannon
Top Female Odds: 7/1

Cute, blonde and the 50th anniversary Playboy play mate. As well as modelling, Colleen is a renowned international DJ. Doesn’t come across as an annoying American. Yet.

Lady Victoria Hervey
Top Female Odds: 9/1

Younger sister Isobella enjoyed several weeks in the sun in last year’s run of the show and following the “you can’t have one without the other” rule of sibling rivalry, it’s now Victoria’s turn to have a go. The daughter of the late 6th Marquis of Bristol is now based in Los Angeles, where she has finished executive producing and starring in a programme pilot. Well, she is almost 30 now, it’s about time she did “something” to earn a living.

Alicia Duvall
Top Female Odds: 9/1

The bookmaker’s don’t give former professional “kiss and tell” merchant Alicia much of a chance although she did come across quite well in the opening show. The young Jackie Stallone lookalike has numerous notches on her bedpost including usual suspects Lee from Blue and Mick Hucknall and split from fiancée Dennis Rodman 18 months ago.

Sezer Yurtseven was the second housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother house and won two dubious honours in the process. Firstly, he was evicted by the largest public vote margin of all time – a massive 91.6%, making him the show’s most detested housemate in Big Brother’s seven series run.

He also became the earliest male housemate to be evicted from the house, having been shown the door by the end of week two.

Sezer was a shoe-in to leave as far as the bookmakers were concerned as soon as it was revealed he was one of three housemates up for eviction. He was available at 3/10 which plummeted to 1/33 by Friday evening.

However, first thing Monday morning, Sezer was available at comparatively gigantic odds of 12/1 to be the second person evicted as whinging Nikki was the firm favourite to leave next at even money.

The situation changed dramatically by the time it came to nominations as not only was Nikki receiving favourable edits from the production team, showing the likes of Grace talking about her behind her back, but in a dramatic twist both Sezer and Imogen were banned from nominations after being caught discussing them.

Both Sezer and Grace were not portrayed well in the highlights show, with Grace bitching at every opportunity and Sezer bragging about how he could survive the chop against almost anyone in the house, especially the surgically enhanced Lea.

Just before the nominations were announced to the public, Grace was odds-on favourite to leave at 1/2 and both Nikki and Sezer at 7/2.

Despite behaving like a proper little madam since she arrived in the house, Nikki didn’t receive a single nomination while Grace received two which wasn’t enough to put her up for the public vote.

Richard received the most at four nominations, with both Lea and Sezer receiving three apiece. The trio would be put up for the public vote and Sezer got his wish of going head-to-head with Lea.

The bookmakers didn’t believe in Sezer’s invincibility as much as the Turkish Cypriot stockbroker did and immediately priced him up as 3/10 favourite. Sezer’s cause was not helped by one leading tabloid newspaper which only published his eviction number and urged readers to vote him out.

The press and Big Brother themselves love a pantomime villain and Sezer duly delivered and not even Victor from Big Brother 5 was detested as much for “ruining” Shell’s mock wedding if you judge by the overall voting percentage.
